Beer Here! Historic Beer Tour
BEER HERE!
Hear the backstory of how Germany’s most pedestrian beverage became an economic force in the saintly city nearly a decade before Minnesota reached statehood.
Join "Frau Gerhard” as she wends her way through the streets of St. Paul and taps the keg on a host of stories and lore including everything from beer gardens and beer caves to kidnappings and kit bars. It’s a recipe for an invigorating and informative afternoon on the history of Beer Here (or as they say auf Deutsch, “Bier Hier”)!
Explore the layout of old German Upper Town and uncover the adventures (and misadventures) of some of the areas earliest denizens. Discover why the Capital city had…and still has… all the best ingredients to create such fabulous Beer Here!
Tour starts and finishes in front of the Science Museum of Minnesota, with an elective visit to New Bohemia Craft Bier Hall at tour's end.
